Elgin Recycling a Responsible Recycler!
The Responsible Recycling (R2) Practices are a set of guidelines for accredited certification programs to assess electronics recyclers’ environmental, worker health and safety, and security practices.
Elgin Recycling is proud to announce the completion of all R2 certification requirements as of 10/10/2011.
Developed by the EPA, states and industry professionals; R2 is design to recognize responsible recyclers who wish to develop and maintain an industry standard of best practices for electronic recycling. With the enrollment into the R2 program, Elgin Recycling is able to provide responsible E-recycling; ensuring safety and security standards are maintained at all times.
“On an annual basis people throw out hundreds of thousands of pounds of electronic waste that could be recycled. Material that we recycle.” Said Bob Conroy, Elgin Recycling President. “We are offering an outlet for people to recycle their old electronics, as well as peace of mind that the material is being handled properly.”
